Welcome to Quilts Bayou . We are a full line quilting store maintaining a fabric inventory of over 3000 bolts of beautiful fabrics, notions, books, patterns and thread for the quilter. Our store is located in beautiful Lake Charles in the south west corner of Louisiana. We have a friendly and helpful staff and we all love "talking" quilt talk and seeing Show & Tells. Our Fall Retreat at Koontz is scheduled for October 8 - 9 & 10, 2010... YOU MUST COME IN TO THE SHOP TO SIGN UP and secure your spot, or call with Credit Card Info on 1 June, 2010 or after. Space is limited , 24 total quilters. A deposit of $60 is required at that time, final payment ($56) is due by September 1, 2010.
You must cancel at least one week prior to receive a full refund.
We are full at this time but have started a waiting list.
Quilts Bayou is part of the One Million Pillowcase Challenge that
you are reading about in the current Quilting Magazines. We have set
aside one day a month to get together and sew for this cause. Please
join us. Thanks to a few very giving people we have some cases ready to
stitch and 25 done! If you can spare a little fabric,( 3/4 yard for
body, 1/4 yard for cuff and 2" for a contrast band), and a little time
in exchange for fun and learning the "Burrito" case. All pillow cases
will be donated locally. if you have somewhere you think these cases
would cheer up an individual, let us know.

Beginning 1 July 2010 -- "Fiesta"
46" x 6 4", $25 Finishing Kit plus purchase of book ($11.50) and $16.50 a month for 6 months. This is a beautiful quilt that is traditionally pieced, paper pieced and some curve piecing. We will set aside the first Friday of each month from 10:00- 1:00 for instructions and assistance in making the blocks. Don't be intimidated by these blocks-YOU can do it and create a gorgeous quilt. (If you are working and need time set aside on the weekend to get help just let us know).

Starting January 2010 we are going to try something a little different. On the odd numbered months (Jan/1, Mar/3, May/5 etc.)
we are going to serve Lunch and on the even numbered months (Feb/2, April/4, Jun/6 etc) we will serve Breakfast. We'll still start at 8:30 and end at 2:30. Let us know what you think.

"Home of the Brave"
We continue to work on the quilts for the families of our fallen heroes. Currently we are in the process of getting several quilted, bound and labeled. We still need a couple of tops put together so if you would like to take one home to work on just let us know. Thank you to all of you who have put in so much time and effort. Every quilt has been received with heartfelt graditude and truely appreciated by the family members
